Barça Set to Play Inaugural Match at Upgraded Camp Nou over the weekend

The club confirmed their first game will take place at the still-under-construction Camp Nou on Saturday. They will welcome the Bilbao team in the Spanish league over two years since relocating to allow renovations to start.

“Returning home was our dream. Finally, it’s happening. We are back at Spotify Camp Nou.”

Not all seats will be available though over 45,000 attendees can be present under the licence granted. After final construction, the Camp Nou is due to hold close to 105,000 fans, increasing from the former 99,000. Officials confirmed recent additions comprise a renovated tunnel for players and new dressing rooms.

Stadium Testing

The club conducted a fan-accessible workout inside the stadium earlier this month. They mentioned they are seeking authorization from Uefa to host the next European match against Eintracht Frankfurt on 9 December at the stadium. Previous fixtures took place in the temporary ground.
