British boxer Anthony Joshua Discharged from Hospital in Lagos Following Deadly Car Crash

Former heavyweight champion Anthony Joshua has been discharged from hospital, officials in Lagos announced on Wednesday night. The athlete was involved in a car accident near Lagos on the 29th of December, a tragic incident that took the lives of two of his team members.

Healing from Light Wounds

Joshua had remained in the hospital while healing from his light wounds, representatives stated earlier on Monday. The commissioner for information and strategy, Gbenga Omotoso, confirmed in an update on social media that Joshua was deemed clinically fit to leave and heal privately.

“The boxer and his mother were at the mortuary in Lagos this afternoon to pay their final respects to his two deceased friends as they were being made ready for the journey back,” the official remarked.

A Tribute to the Fallen

The victims of the crash were identified as Latif Ayodele, a personal trainer, and Sina Ghami, a conditioning specialist. It was also noted that the athlete was heartbroken and overcome with emotion over the tragic loss of his two dear friends.”

This update on his health comes as the boxing community offered its support for the champion in the aftermath of the heartbreaking incident.
