Tehran reports attacking a US naval base in Bahrain, as the country executed missile attacks across the region in retaliation for a "massive" and continuing attack against it by the United States and Israeli forces. The full scale of any destruction is unclear and the United States has yet to issue a statement. Airspace Engagements In other parts of the Middle East, the UAE, Qatar and Kuwait - which all house US military bases - reported they have engaged and destroyed missiles in their territorial skies. In the Qatari capital, the Qatari Ministry of Defence announced it had successfully engaged a number of projectiles apparently targeting the al-Udeid air base, the biggest US military installation in the Middle East. IRGC Statement Iran's Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) declared it was striking US bases and assets as part of military campaign "Truthful Promise 4", in retaliation for the attack on Iran initiated by the United States and its ally Israel on Saturday morning. That preceding assault - initiated at approximately 09:15 Iran time - has so far targeted sites linked to the Tehran's leadership, with US President Donald Trump calling on the people of Iran to revolt against the government. Regional Fallout In the State of Israel, air raid sirens sounded across the country after the Israel Defense Forces said it had detected an barrage of missiles from Iran. The Ministry of Defence of the United Arab Emirates said in a statement that the country has been targeted by a "a blatant attack involving Iranian ballistic missiles". "Emirati air defenses dealt with the projectiles with high efficiency and successfully intercepted a series of missiles," it added. It said debris landed in a populated district in Abu Dhabi, causing some material damage and the death of one civilian. The United States Air Force operates from Al Dhafra Air Base, to the south of the Emirati capital, along with the Emirati Air Force.
