Speculation about a potential return have been circulating for some time, but confirmation only arrived this week. New Challenges for The Team Series seven will open with AC-12 having been disbanded and renamed as the new police oversight body, according to production details. Martin Compston's character, Vicky McClure's role, and Adrian Dunbar's part continue tasked to tackle corruption within the law enforcement. Their work "faces unprecedented challenges", and under these circumstances, the trio are assigned their "most sensitive case to date." New Character and Intricate Plot An additional officer, Det Insp Dominic Gough, portrayed as a charismatic officer celebrated for busts of organized crime, faces allegations of abusing his position to act as a sexual predator. Yet, his case could be a deliberate distraction from a bigger threat still operating in the shadows, the teaser suggested.
