Dean Henderson Had little to do to perform before the break until tested by Arbër Hoxha’s curling effort. His sliding intervention against Qazim Laci demonstrated sharp game intelligence. 6/10

The debutant Challenged against the opposition's biggest threat in Hoxha. Played more centrally early on later drifted out wide once Saka entered the fray. 7

John Stones Pushed up the pitch when in possession, a familiar role in the past. On occasion seemed hesitant when carrying play with the approach was shelved after the break. 6

Dan Burn Always dangerous from dead balls, per usual, could serve as another option for Stones in defense rather than his partner. A loose distribution after the break came close to an opener from Albania. Six

Nico O’Reilly One more composed display from the rising star following his initial appearance versus another side. A teammate failed to make the opportunity from a gorgeous flick behind their defense. The role is firmly his at this stage. Seven

The newcomer His maiden beginning in an England shirt. A bit careless in possession though his inswinging set-pieces caused problems. An effective tempo-setter for the coach to have versus teams who drop deep. Booked for a poorly timed foul. 6

The midfielder Crosses from dead balls and free-kicks created chances. Was given room to drift down the left flank but was offside upon receiving in shooting positions. Granted a deserved rest on the hour mark. 6/10

The star midfielder Functioned in a forward spot down the right and contributed with dirty work. Showed glimpses of brilliance but dragged a shot over. Substituted late on by Rogers, a fellow player, after receiving a caution. 7/10

The winger Was presented with England’s clearest opportunity of the first half, his effort well saved by Thomas Strakosha. With a teammate holding position, it fell to him to provide width down the right side although his balls into the box were inconsistent. Taken off for the final quarter-hour. Six

The captain The decisive figure scoring 77th and 78th finishes at international level. His first a trademark poacher’s finish and the second a classy finish with his head after peeling away off his defender. Aged 32, he continues to improve with the national team stand a real opportunity in future competitions when he's in the team. 8/10

Eberechi Eze Struggled to get into the game out wide. Was presented with a good opening when set up from a teammate yet Strakosha denied him. His replacement had a greater an impact after coming on. 5
