The President Calls Families of Attacked National Guard Members to White House

President Trump stated on the weekend that he has asked the family of a National Guard member killed last week to come to the presidential home.

He added that he spoke to her parents and they were “deeply grieving”.

Information on the Devastating Incident

Soldier Sarah Beckstrom, twenty years old, was killed in a attack on Wednesday in Washington DC.

Her comrade, Andrew Wolfe, twenty-four years old, is still in the hospital in critical condition.

Gatherings across the state have taken place in their remembrance.

White House Invitation

The president said he’s discussed a meeting at the presidential residence for the parents of both soldiers of the West Virginia Guard.

“I told them: ‘When you’re prepared, because that’s a difficult moment, visit the White House. We’re going to recognize Sarah,” Trump informed reporters. “And likewise with him, whether he recovers or not.”

Community Response

Attendees gathered over the past few days at Webster County high school in West Virginia to remember Beckstrom.

Both they had been working with the West Virginia National Guard as part of the president’s government program to support law enforcement in DC.

Honoring Beckstrom

“She was the kind of student that teachers desired. She conducted herself with quiet strength, a contagious smile and a positive energy that lifted those around her,” the principal, the principal of Beckstrom’s former high school, told the Associated Press. “She was sweet, considerate and always ready to help others.”

Funeral arrangements for Sarah are still being arranged.

Judicial Actions and Government Adjustments

Authorities have accused a twenty-nine-year-old suspect with a charge of first-degree murder and charges of assault with intent to kill while carrying a weapon.

The tragedy caused the administration to suspend refugee claims and halt granting entry permits to holders of travel documents.

Status of Andrew Wolfe

Wolfe, a native of the city, enlisted in 2019 and is a graduate of Musselman high school, as reported by the AP.

He continues to receive treatment and is “fighting for his life”, West Virginia governor the governor stated on a news program.

Attorney general Pam Bondi informed Fox News Sunday that she planned to visit the family.

Memory of the Fallen Soldier

Sarah, from her hometown, completed her education from Webster County High in 2023 and joined the military shortly after, working as a military police officer with excellence, as stated by the military.

“She had a lot of compassion and she absolutely had courage,” the governor told the crowd at the memorial. “Though her time was cut short, she has made an impact that’s going to endure.”
