Two men have been charged following a luggage theft where a believed to be irritant spray resulted in harm at the UK's busiest airport.

Tyrone Richards, 31, and Anton Clarke-Butcher, 24, are accused of two robbery charges and two counts of deploying a toxic agent, authorities have stated.

These accusations come after an probe of an attack at the parking structure at Terminal 3 on Sunday. Earlier that day, two women were robbed of their suitcases taken after exiting a car park lift, police said.

A three-year-old girl was caught up in the incident in the event. A total of five individuals went to hospital for treatment and were subsequently released.

This event – which authorities stated was a standalone event and not being treated as terrorism – caused disruptions to rail services and the partial closure of the main airport road tunnel and the T3 parking area for a limited duration.
